Is it still premium for the turbocharged engine?
With the redesign for 2013, the Acura RDX comes with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine instead of the turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that powered the previous generation. Acura recommends using premium gas in the 2013 RDX but says it isn’t necessary. Acura uses similar V-6 engine in other models, though with higher compression ratios and power ratings, and requires premium in those vehicles.
If you use regular in the 2013 RDX, you may notice a small loss of acceleration and perhaps fuel economy as well, compared with premium, but if you’re satisfied with your performance and mileage, pumping the cheaper grade is an opportunity to save money.
