I am looking for a hatchback with a backup camera. Hybrid preferred, but would love something with high mpg. We drive a lot.
Among hybrid hatchbacks that offer backup cameras are the Ford C-Max, Honda Insight, Lexus CT 200h and the Toyota Prius. If you can bend your definition of hatchback to include the wagon-like Prius v, that would give you another hybrid to choose from.
You can also get a backup camera in hatchback electric cars such as the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf and in economical gas-powered models such as the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra GT and Veloster, and the Kia Forte, all of which top 35 mpg in their EPA highway estimates. Note that in some cases a rear camera may be available only on specific models and, where it is an option, it may be packaged with an extra-cost navigation system.
