What about good reviews?
Legroom is not so good if you’re a 5-foot-11 or taller driver, according to Cars.com Industry Analyst Kelsey Mays, who noted in his review of the Soul that he could have used more rearward seat travel and space for his legs behind the wheel. If you’re shorter, you may find the Soul more accommodating. There also is ample legroom for the rear seat. That’s why you should see for yourself and find out how well you fit behind the wheel and elsewhere.
The Soul earns high marks in other areas, such as value for the money and a strong measure of functionality to complement the funky styling. It’s easy to get in and out, and there’s generous cargo room with the rear seatbacks folded. The performance is nothing to rave about, and the driver’s view to the rear is compromised by the massive rear roof pillars. But the Soul is an affordable and sensible hatchback for someone on a limited budget.
