I currently drive a 2007 BMW 525xi with manual transmission. I noticed that BMW's current 2011 lineup does not offer the same.
Although all these sedans may not qualify as “luxury” under your definition, we found a handful of models from luxury brands that offer all-wheel drive with a manual transmission. They include the BMW 328xi and 335xi, Acura TL, Audi A4 and S4, and the Saab 9-3, so you may have to move down a notch in size and prestige.
We found these vehicles using the Cars.com Vehicle Recommender, which lets you set the search criteria to find models that suit your desires, from transmissions to drive systems, stereos and seating capacity.
You are correct that BMW no longer offers all-wheel drive with a manual transmission in the 5 Series. It’s likely because of low demand for that combination. Although manual transmissions are still available, the choices seem to get slimmer each year. You might still be able to find a 2010 528i or 535i with xDrive and a manual transmission.
