Which Toyota SUV has the most interior room?

The RAV4, Highlander or 4Runner?

Tammy H., Morton, Miss.

Out of those three, you’ll find the most interior room in the Highlander, including more space for passengers as well as maximum cargo room. In the back, the Highlander has a total of 95.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded. The 4Runner has 88.8 cubic feet, and the RAV4 has 73 cubic feet.

The 4Runner has similar exterior dimensions as the Highlander, but less overall room on the inside. Truck-based SUVs like the 4Runner typically have less room inside because of the added bulk of heavy-duty framework and four-wheel-drive systems. Carlike architecture, like what’s used on the Highlander, has the benefit of interior spaciousness.

Total passenger volume measures how much room is available for passengers inside a car’s cabin. The Highlander has 145 cubic feet of passenger room, the RAV4 measures in at 136 cubic feet, and the 4Runner has 128 cubic feet. These measurements include a third row in all three, a feature that’s standard in the Highlander but optional on the RAV4 and 4Runner.
