The Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata, though mostly recognized as midsize sedans, are classified by the Environmental Protection Agency as large cars. If these family cars are on your list, they are certainly some of the larger offerings in terms of legroom and interior space.

Looking at the specs, the Sonata has more front legroom while the Accord gives backseat passengers more legroom. Both are larger sedans compared with their competitors, but the Accord feels roomier, as we noted in our $25,000 Family Sedan Shootout where we compared the Accord, Sonata and six other family sedans.

The Mazda6 and Subaru Legacy should also be added to the list of larger family sedans, though the EPA classifies them as a midsize car.
