For sheer size, check out the 2010 Buick Enclave, which has 67.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. The Enclave isn’t quite luxury status but combines a premium feel with massive amounts of cargo room.

If the large Enclave seems like overkill for two midsized dogs, there are smaller options that could still do the trick. The Acura MDX, Lincoln MKT (seven-seater), Lincoln MKX (five-seater) and Lexus RX 350 all have about 40 cubic feet behind the second row. Having a low step-in and cargo load-in height would be worth looking for if you frequently carry around the dogs. Out of these, the MKT is slung low, more like a wagon.

Don’t discount a premium wagon like the Volvo V70 wagon, with its low load-in height and decent-size cargo area measuring 33.3 cubic feet. Compared with a crossover, however, the wagon won’t have as much height in the cargo area for taller dogs.

OK, but let us make the difference on the security between Volvo V70 and Buick Enclave?
