I have a 2007 Toyota Sequoia and it works great but the new model does not have the same headroom.
The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe and its related models (GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Suburban and Cadillac Escalade) are all full-size SUVs with more headroom (41.1 inches) than the 2010 Toyota Sequoia. The Nissan Armada, with 41 inches of maximum headroom, also has more headroom than the current Toyota Sequoia.
The Sequoia lost some headroom when it was redesigned for 2008. Your 2007 model has 41.1 inches of headroom standard and 40.4 inches with the optional sunroof. For 2010, the Sequoia has 39.7 inches of headroom standard and 38.3 with sunroof, according to manufacturer specifications.
All of the previously mentioned SUVs are truck-based models like your current Sequoia. A full-size crossover SUV won’t have the heavy-duty capabilities of truck-based models like the Sequoia, but the 2010 Ford Flex outdoes the others in headroom with 41.8 inches.
Use headroom specifications as a guideline because sometimes spec sheets won’t tell the whole story. Be sure to test drive these and make sure you have sufficient headroom. Auto show season is coming up and is a great venue to get in these SUVs under one roof and test them back-to-back.

I am also 6 foot 8 inches, and just attempted to sit in an Escalade... no way! One safety strip and I'll break my neck. I put the seat all the way down, and unless I turn the seat into a couch, my head has under 1 inch clearance. Could someone with experience (and height) please answer the question? All the math in the world won't keep a tall guy from bumping his head on the roof of these new cars.
