For 2010, the Lincoln MKZ has standard front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive available as a $1,890 upgrade. All-wheel drive models start at $36,005.

By choosing the all-wheel-drive model you’ll sacrifice gas mileage for the confidence of being able to tackle slippery conditions. Mileage ratings drop to 17/24 mpg city/highway from the front-wheel-drive’s 18/27 mpg ratings.

The MKZ is redesigned for 2010 and you can read our review of the new model, here.2010mkz

It is Haldex, which means the car is mechanically front drive, with a power take-off system to drive the rear axle.

This kind of system gets you moving, it does not keep you moving.
Drive it like a front drive car with loads of traction.
