Honda’s new five-seater Crosstour SUV goes on sale in November as a 2010 model. Recently we learned that the Accord-based crossover will come standard with a 3.5-liter V-6 and all-wheel drive will be available.

Other new tidbits include its cargo area that features an 8-inch-deep storage compartment which is also removable. Levers in the rear cargo area will fold the rear seats to create a flat cargo area.

We expect more details like pricing and gas mileage to be announced soon. You can keep up to date on Crosstour news at our KickingTires blog.

the front grill is growing on me. wanna see it in person.

Remember when "hatch backs" were all the rage? That didn't last long when the summer sun turned Accords etc into OVENS... Snow had to be swept off because the wiper could not handle it and even vibrated when on the highway!! Then louvers came out to "Shade" the interior... they too vibrated!! What a mess. Honda is blowing it... and that grill is just about as bad as the Acura models!! I love Honda but what a Joke this is.

I have been driving Honda Pilots since 2003. Have an 08 now. Over the past several months I have developed a lousy feeling about it; Its gotten to be like driving a bus. I look at all the SUVs the same now. Sick of them. Need the feel of driving a car again. I still need the room, kids and a dog. Before the Pilot I had an 01 6cyl Accord. Loved it. My daughter is still driving it at 130k miles. I hope the Crosstour can fill that need for hauling people a dog and my stuff. Anyone else getting sick of their SUV?

I have been looking for a way to send suggestions to Honda about this model. If they were wise they would differentiate themselves from all of the similar 26mpg crossovers and provide other options besides 3.5L V6.
Offer this with an efficiency-tuned 4cyl TDI engine with manual transmission and they'd have my order today.

BTW - been driving hatchbacks for 30 years - they are wonderful - a sedan with some hauling capacity. People can't believe I get 10' pieces of lumber or two keyboards, a bass and amps into my sedan.
