The 2009 Chevrolet Equinox LS is rated with a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds for front- and all-wheel-drive models. The LS is the entry-level Equinox and comes with a six-cylinder engine standard.

For 2010, the Equinox has improved in many ways compared to the 2009, but standard towing capacity isn’t one of those areas. The all-new LS trim level now has a four-cylinder engine and is rated to tow 1,500 pounds. When equipped with the optional V-6, the 2010 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
