We classify the Acura MDX and Nissan Murano crossover SUVs as midsize models, but you’re correct that the MDX is larger than the Murano.  Bumper to bumper, the MDX isn’t significantly longer than the Murano; it measures in at 190.7 inches compared to 188.5 inches for the Murano. The MDX is wider and taller, however, and makes use of its extra room with seating capacity for seven passengers while the Murano only seats five.

The MDX also has more maximum cargo room when the second and third seats are folded. With seats up, the Murano has more cargo room behind the second row because there’s no third row taking up cargo space.

Murano and mdx
Despite the Murano’s $27,680 base price, a fully loaded LE with all-wheel drive can easily approach the $40,000 mark when equipped with an optional navigation system. The MDX starts at $40,990, so it’s not out of the question for these two models to overlap in pricing.
