Which sub- $30,000 cars come with a backup camera and smart key system?

I'm looking for a new car after being spoiled in a Lexus IS 250. Which cars come with a backup camera and an electronic key — the one you can keep in your pocket.

Luxury sedans do spoil drivers with features like backup cameras and smart keys, but they’re definitely not features limited to luxury makes. You mention the IS 250, which starts at $31,000, so we’ll use that as a cap for recommendations. In that price range are the 2010 Toyota Camry and 2009 Nissan Altima that combine a backup camera with a smart key system.

Both the Camry’s smart key and backup camera (integrated into the navigation system) are optional. Both features can be had on a Camry SE for around $25,000 if no other options are checked. The Altima’s backup camera is part of a package that includes many other options, and that increases the price to nearly $30,000. However, a smart key system is standard on 2.5 S trim levels and above.

You can also find a backup camera — although no smart key — as a factory option on models that cost less than $30,000, including the 2010 Ford Fusion, 2010 Subaru Legacy, 2010 Subaru Outback, 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and 2010 Honda CR-V. Some cars, like the 2009 Honda Accord, have a backup camera available as a dealer-installed accessory but the car must have a navigation system.
