When the 2010 BMW 7 Series goes on sale this fall it will offer all-wheel drive in time for the winter-driving season. The all-weather feature, called xDrive, will be available on regular versions of the 750i as well as the long-wheelbase 750Li.

7series

Previous generations of BMW’s big sedan didn’t offer all-wheel drive, but competitors like the Audi S8 and Mercedes-Benz S550 have. BMW currently has all-wheel-drive versions of its other sedans, including the 3 Series and 5 Series.

Pricing hasn’t been released for the 2010 7 Series, but the rear-wheel-drive 2009 750i starts at $80,300, not including an $825 destination charge.
