Which new cars qualify for the Cash for Clunkers program?

I know my old one will qualify, but which new ones can I choose from?

We’ve compiled a list of new cars that qualify for the Cash for Clunkers program. To see the complete list of passenger vehicles that qualify, click here. You can’t just go out and buy any new car, truck, SUV or minivan and get your $3,500 or $4,500 credit; the program has specific requirements about price and fuel economy when you trade in your clunker for a newer, more fuel-efficient vehicle.

New cars, which excludes vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds, must have an EPA combined mileage rating of at least 22 mpg and an MSRP of less than $45,000. These requirements include a large number of vehicles, ranging from a 2009 Ford Escape — 24 mpg — to a 2010 Toyota Prius — 50 mpg.
