The new Camaro that we’ve been seeing on the auto show circuit will be available in early 2009. Base V-6 models in 1LS trim start at $22,245 and include a 300-horsepower V-6 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The prices don’t include a $750 destination charge.

Higher level trim packages on the V-6 are the 1LT and 2LT. The 1LT starts at $23,880 and has fog lamps and floor mats. The 2LT, starting at $26,580, includes the 1LT’s features as well as an upgraded stereo, Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity, USB port, four auxiliary gauges and heated leather seats.

If you’re more adventurous and have a little extra dough, the 422-hp V-8 Camaro SS starts at $30,245 and comes with a six-speed manual. The optional six-speed automatic transmission has a less powerful V-8 rated at 400 hp. The base SS trim, 1SS, has interior equipment similar to the V-6 1LT, but with all of the under hood performance goodies that come with the V-8. A step above is the 2SS, which starts at $33,430 and is the top dog Camaro package. The same interior equipment as the 2LT is included in the 2SS.

If you can’t wait until early 2009, you can head to your local dealership right now and place an order.
