We’ve provided a list below of 2009 model year BMWs with all-wheel drive. An easy way to tell which new Bimmers have AWD is to look for “xDrive” in the vehicle’s description. On the 3 Series and 5 Series AWD is optional, but all BMW SUVs come with AWD.

In previous years BMW would use an “x” emblem on the car’s rear to designate AWD such as 328xi or 528xi. For 2009 that “x” disappears; all that’s left on the back of the car is 328i or 528i, even if the model does have AWD.
