A recent automotive trend is to include a remote start on new cars right off the factory floor instead of offering it as a dealer-installed accessory. Although many cars do have remote start available as an accessory. The feature is great for people in colder climates because you can start your car from the warmth of your living room, and some cars will automatically turn the defroster on when you hit the start button.

Many of GM’s 2009 models have the feature — some as standard equipment — but other automakers also have remote start available. We’ve listed some of those automakers below. If our readers know of any others, tell us in the comment section, and we’ll add those to the list.
