You might be hard-pressed to find new 2008 models because the 2009 Toyota Prius has been available for almost two months. We searched through Cars.com’s inventory in the Anaheim area and mostly found 2009 models.
If you can find a 2008, our Smart Target Price takes demand and availability into consideration and estimates that a 2008 Prius in Standard trim will sell for around $23,725, or about $1,500 over MSRP. A Base model’s STP is $25,196 and a Touring trim is $26,154.
This summer’s high gas prices caused demand for the Prius to skyrocket. During that time we saw some used Prius’ priced at higher than their original MSRP. Today, however, sales are down — as they are across the board — but the average time a Prius spends on the lot is four days, which is still extremely low. The Prius took the top spot in September’s Movers and Losers rankings.
