Which cars have a powerful motor, a nice ride and can fit kids?

I've been weighing my options between buying a Charger R/T, a Roush Mustang or the Shelby GT. One of the big factors that my wife wants is for me to be able to take my kids somewhere if I have to. Obviously the Charger wins out in this department with ease of access, but are their any other cars out there that will offer me a powerful motor, a nice ride and the ability to drive my kids somewhere if my wife's SUV isn't around?

A practical hot rod might be an oxymoron, but there are still a few quick performance rear-wheel-drive sedans that are worth checking out. The 2009 Charger R/T is one of them with newfound power for 2009, up to 368 horsepower from 340 hp in 2008. The Charger’s main competition comes from the Pontiac G8 GT with 361 hp.

Both are comfortable sedans with a good amount of performance when you want it as well as generous amounts of backseat room. The Charger has 40.2 inches of rear legroom and the G8 has 39.4 inches. The Mustang’s legroom is much less at 30.3 inches.

Horsepower wars aren’t the only battles going on between these cars. An incentives duel is happening, too. The 2009 Charger R/T, which costs $31,860, has a $1,000 cash-back bonus, and the outgoing 2008 has a $4,500 rebate. For the G8, GM’s Red Tag sales event knocks $2,700, which includes a $1,500 rebate, off of the $32,240 GT for a final price of $29,540.
