It’s fairly common for an automaker to marginally increase the MSRP on new-model-year cars; at least for models that haven’t significantly changed from the previous year’s model, although there are exceptions. The redesigned 2008 Liberty is one of those exceptions as it was cheaper than the outgoing 2007. Model year pricing might increase by only $100 on some cars, while others can jump as much as $2,000 and more depending if there are new features, a redesign or even as a result of parts supply changes.
There were minimal changes from the 2008 Liberty to the 2009 model year, but the pricing increased by $1,625 for Sport models and by $790 for Limited Edition models. You won’t likely have to pay all of that price increase since the Liberty has a $3,000 cash-back rebate for 2008 models and a $750 rebate for 2009.
