Normally we don’t delve into used cars, but safety recalls are often announced many years after a car has been on the road, like the 2003 Nissan Altima that has it's most recent recall issued in 2007. You can check with your dealership, — you’ll need your vehicle’s VIN — to see if recalls on your vehicle have been fixed.

A 2006 recall addressed a possible issue of the engine shutting off without warning. You can find other recalls for the 2003 Altima listed in the Cars.com recall database, and also see Safercar.gov for more detailed information on what the recall involves and how dealerships will fix the problem.
