I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport. I thought it was 5,000 pounds!
Jeep Liberty Sport models were rated with a trailer capacity of 3,500 pounds for both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive models, although an optional Trailer Tow Group bumped that rating up to 5,000 pounds.
If you have the original build sheet that came with your Liberty, it’ll show what options are on the SUV, including the tow package, if so equipped.
Towing packages from the factory will have a hitch, wiring for trailer lighting and fluid coolers for the transmission, power steering or engine oils.
You can find trailer ratings in your owner’s manual, and we also list those numbers at Cars.com in the vehicle’s summary page or in a side-by-side comparison.
