The 2009 Impalas are already sitting at dealership lots. Changes to the full-size, front-wheel-drive sedan for the 2009 model year include additional safety features such as standard antilock brakes, traction control and side-impact airbags. An electronic stability system is optional, however, and only available on the higher-end 2LT, LTZ and SS models.

In an attempt to clear old 2008 inventory from dealership lots, General Motors has recently revived its employee pricing. 2008 Impalas get a discount, but 2009 model year cars don’t qualify for the lower price. This is a prime time to pick up a 2008 Impala since you likely can get a higher trim Impala with those previously mentioned options for less than a 2009 model. Below is an example from our KickingTires coverage on the sale, but to find all offers in your area go to the GM website, here.

2008 Chevrolet Impala LT 3.5L
MSRP: $23,425
Employee price: $21,648
Cash back: $1,750
Final price: $19,898
Savings: $3,527
