The 2008 Versa comes as a four-door hatchback with a rear liftgate or a four-door sedan with a trunk. Once you decide which body style is to your liking, there are two trim levels on each body style that determine how well-equipped the car will be and what packages are available. As an entry-level model, the 1.8S ($12,980 for the hatch, $12,880 for the sedan) comes with standard air conditioning as well as front, side-impact and side curtain airbags. You’ll have to crank your own windows and pop your own door locks unless you opt for the $700 power package.

A step up from the S is the SL trim ($14,980 for the hatch, $15,640 for the sedan) that adds convenience features like keyless entry, power door locks and windows and an upgraded stereo. Some of the packages available on the SL cannot be had on the S trim, like the Convenience, Sport and Sunroof packages.

A Convenience Package includes Bluetooth phone connectivity with keyless start for $650. A Sport Package adds a spoiler, fog lights and body appearance upgrades to the hatchback or sedan for $700, while the Sunroof Package is $600.

Also considered a package, antilock brakes are optional on both 1.8S and 1.8SL trims, bumping the price up an extra $250.

You can build your own Versa on Cars.com and outfit it with the above packages. After you’re done creating your car, you can get a free quote from up to three local dealerships to get the best price.
