In light of rising gas prices and the fading popularity of truck-based SUVs like Ford’s Explorer, car-based crossover SUVs — including the midsize Ford Edge — have taken the spotlight. With standard seating for five passengers and pricing in the mid-to-low $20k, the Edge’s competition includes the Nissan Murano, Mazda CX-7, Saturn Vue, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Highlander. The Pilot, Santa Fe and Highlander all have third rows available.

For a larger list of similar models, including truck-based SUVs, check out the “See Similar Models” tab in the 2008 Ford Edge Vehicle Summary page; this is a feature available for any car in our research section.
