Can I fit larger brakes on my Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG?

I recently purchased a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. I was wondering if 15-inch eight-piston front or 15-inch or 14-inch four-piston rear Brembo brakes would be able to fit on this type of vehicle. This is an excellent vehicle, but I am looking for superior braking power.

Probably only about .01% of drivers would find the factory AMG 15.4-inch front rotors with six-piston calipers and 14.2-inch rear rotors with four-piston calipers unsatisfactory. Good for you — put those stoppers to the test!

As for Brembo brakes on the SL65, there isn’t an upgrade kit shown in Brembo’s online catalog. There may be a kit out there not listed, or perhaps a custom upgrade could be built if you contacted them.

On the other hand, Mercedes tuner RENNtech does have a brake upgrade kit for the SL65 AMG. The upgrade includes up to 16.2-inch front rotors with eight-piston calipers. There’s a 20-inch minimum wheel diameter requirement for the big-gun 16.2-inch rotors.

Be sure to contact whichever manufacturer you choose with fitment questions, as they will be able to tell you exactly what will and won’t fit on your car.
