I have heard that on the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid you can only use the A/C when the vehicle’s engine is running (meaning not running on the battery). Is this true? And if it is, has Ford made any changes in the ‘09 model?

I am a little over 5 feet tall and have to have the driver’s seat all the way forward. This places me up against the steering wheel with little space for airbags to activate. I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre, and I am afraid I would likely be killed by the airbag if I got into an accident. Am I the only person this tall who worries about this, and is it a real problem? I have looked at new sedans and the problem doesn't seem to be addressed for people of my height or less. Can the airbags be legally disengaged? Are there any new sedans that offer adjustable brake and accelerator pedals like some of the SUV's, which I do not want?

Which SUVs or minivans have second-row seating designed such that someone can easily access the third row without having to remove either of two car seats in the second row (i.e. captain’s chairs or chairs that slide without affecting car-seat installation)?

AWD vs. FWD for Northeast winters? I am considering the 2008 Saturn Outlook, but am strained between the AWD or FWD versions. Roads can be somewhat rough in winters, but we currently make it through with a 2003 Ford Focus 2.3 PZEV SE, and research is showing that AWD may just be a fancy FWD, so I am leaning more toward the FWD. Understand it is a personal decision, but help!

When will the next-generation Toyota Prius be available? I understand it will appear in 2009 as a 2010 model, which means it could be as soon as April 2009 or as late as about November 2009. I know Toyota purposely wants to conceal the exact timing, but can you clear the air?

I own a 2002 four-wheel-drive Jeep Liberty and have loved it — except for gas mileage. I live in Minnesota and I'm moving to Southern California so won't need four-wheel drive, but like the cargo space of the Liberty and would like better gas mileage.

I recently purchased a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. I was wondering if 15-inch eight-piston front or 15-inch or 14-inch four-piston rear Brembo brakes would be able to fit on this type of vehicle. This is an excellent vehicle, but I am looking for superior braking power.
