I'm looking at buying a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L, but am wondering which leather interior color would be best. It comes in beige, gray and black. I prefer the black, but my husband feels the black would get too hot. I think the beige would get too dirty with younger kids, plus I'm not crazy about the wood interior look that comes with the beige color. What are the pros and cons of each leather color choice?
Well, good luck in your shopping. We've tested many versions of the new Accord with all the interior leather colors. If it's just about style, obviously you should pick whichever color you like best. If you live in a place like Lincoln, Neb., you're really not going to get the type of sustained sun and heat that would make black an unbearable choice — versus living in Florida, Nevada, etc. — all year long.
We will say, though, that you’re right that beige will show dirt much more than a dark gray or black.

it also chafes, and cracks eventually. translation, it doesn't last as long as cloth.
if you drive and go around corners and turns fast, leather doesn't hold you as well as cloth.
cloth is cheaper, and doesn't harm animals.
If you have kids, leather cleans up better than cloth after spills.

As for harming animals, if I eat the burger I may as well use the skin.
My husband wants leather seats because he says that cloth take in too many smells after many years.
i say no to leather becasue of many of the reasons listed above. thankfully our jetta has cloth :)
I really like the wetsuit like cloth some company's like Volvo use. Spill resistant.
If the only reason is easier clean ups, you coule do the following:

Leather is the way to go with kids. I just got through cleaning up a milkshake (that I was not aware of until a few days later - ha!). It was very easy. I used to have cloth seats and the stains were hard to get out, plus leather just smells cleaner. I just bought a 2008 Honda with black leather, black exterior. Love it! It looks awesome.
