Nissan positioned itself to sell the Altima Hybrid in states that have a strong consumer base for hybrid technology and that have adopted California’s strict emission regulations. The eight states where Nissan chose to sell the Altima Hybrid include California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Nissan hasn’t announced any plans to expand the Altima Hybrid to national sales.
