Some years ago you had an article about adjusting the three mirrors in a car to have better vision while driving. I never had a chance to try this, and of course I no longer have the newspaper article. Could you please enlighten me again? This time I promise to not just read it, but apply it. Thanks.
You’re in luck: The guys over at Car Talk have instructions in a handy tutorial with illustrations that includes all the info you need to properly set up your mirrors to eliminate blind spots. We’ve also included their PDF version below.
In short, when a car pulls up behind you and passes alongside you, the car should move from the rearview mirror to the side mirrors fluidly and not disappear in a blind spot. It does take some getting used to, but once your mirrors are aligned you’ll rely less on looking over your shoulder and more on the mirrors, which your neck will thank you for — as will the driver in front of you if they happen to slam on the brakes when you’re looking over your shoulder.

If you've been paying attention on the road not only in front of you, but also the surroundings, instead of the damn cell phone that you are texting, the question will then become: Blind spot? What blind spot?
If you are still afraid, there are 2 simple fixes: Add a blind spot mirror on both sides, and an extention on the rearview mirror; or just turn your damn head over the shoulders!!
Wow -- I didn't expect sarcasm when asking a question. I didn't state it was a new method, I just wanted to know how to do it. And, guess what -- I don't own a cell phone. If this method makes my driving safer, what's the problem? There are other people who also may be interested. You people need to chill. By the way, I have been driving for over thirty years without an accident. I guess I would be considered a good driver.
Nope, you are just simply lucky.
Just pick up one of those round stick-on mirrors at an autoparts store and you won't have anymore blinds spots.
fantastic
I tried this way many times, and it worked great. However, when you are stuck in traffic and there is a car (especially with a truck) right behind you, your rear mirror is blocked and you can't see what is happening far in your next lanes. In this case, if you want to change to the next lane (I usually have to change to the carpool lane, where people drive much faster) and you can't see far enough, it will be a risk to make a lane change in this case!!! To me, q uick turning head is fine!
