Yes, Lincoln will produce a 2008 Town Car. Unlike the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria — which is now only sold to fleets, like taxi and government services — the other big-bodied, rear-wheel-drive cars at Ford (Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis) will be available for individual sale to consumers.
Update: Pricing for the 2008 Town Car starts at $45,040. See the Town Car's Vehicle Summary for more information.

I fail to see the need for a Town Car or similarly large car with such poor handling.
Aren't there better alternatives?
say what you want but as you grt older it is easier to get in and out of fullsize cars (and pickups) than those little cars
I am not sure about
the 2008 Linc. Town Car, after checking with area dealers they ALL told me the only way to get a 2008 Town Car is to order one. They will not be stocked in dealers inventory. Grand Marquis are on lots now or u can order.
I have found that the Mercedes Bend is the most reliable car that is made but when it comes time for repairs or to just keep it up as you should, keep your pocket book loaded. I am spending $3,300.00 for repairs on a 2000 model MB that has only 80,000 miles on it but I know this will get me from 4 to 7 thousand miles. I just bought a 2007 Cadillac DTS and I love it because it is a great ride and a beautiful car but the crusher will be crushing this car while the Mercedes is still running like a new one. A True Story.
I am on my third Lincoln. I have found them virtually trouble free. My 2003 Town Car gets great milage and is easy to drive. I will buy another if they make it.
no car rides like a lincoln and im not old 38
I am glad to see that there is a little Pride left in America and at Ford to still build a Nice Classy RWD Luxury Car for Both Personal and Livery use. I work for a company that uses them for Taxis and in Car Service and they the best cars around. They ride, drive and handel very well and are very elegant while consistantly getting 19.2 MPG. in the city. These cars go 400,000 miles without a wimper and when they do need something like brakes or a belt its cheap and can be fixed at any gas station (one that still has service bays that is). Nothings beats these cars, I have seen some in NYC with 800,000 miles on them and still doing just fine.
I may be getting up there now at 54 but I have been driving Town Cars since I was in my 20's. At 6'5" I just love the room and the ride has always been beautiful. My 2003 is not a rally racer but a land yacht. The Chicago Airport Limo operators are required to quit using theirs at 500,000 miles. My only lament is that Ford refused to develop a higher HP engine to rival GM's North Star. The ford V8 is adequate but not thrilling.
I've been driving Lincolns for 47 years (my first was a '57 Premier, the rest were Town Cars) and have yet to find a better or more comfortable road car (including my Rolls). My repair bills have been far less than any other car I've ever owned and, if necessary, it's easy to find someone to work on it when I'm traveling. My insurance premiums are also less. I'm relieved to hear that the 2008's are out as I was afraid they would discontinue them.
I am driving my second Lincoln. The first being a 76 Mark IV. My current ride is an 04 Town Car and I love it. I bought it 1 year old in June 05 and so far this year I have put over 6000 miles on it. LAst year I put 27000 miles. The only problem was a condenser coil for the A/C. THis year it needed bearings in the rear end. All fixed under extended warranty. I hope they keep building them 'cause when this one wears out I want another.
just took delivery of a 2007 twn.car seventh one since 1980. the 17" tires make the ride seem smoother than my last twn.car-a 1998 Cartier. So far I'm receiving 22.5 mpg city driving. Fit and finish on this car is excellant. Wonder how the Ford Wixom Plant workers feel about the 2008 model being built in Canada? They were told the 2007 model was the last twn.car Ford would build! Special order status with a 50K price tag. Come on who is kidding who?
To the guy who wrote that a Town Car does not handle? Geez, I race open wheel formula cars. I find that my Town Car is tail happy and dead silent pushing threw the turns. If I pushed this car to the limits, I should be put in jail and would look like a nut on the road! The car will keep up easily with the most aggressive traffic. When I want to go any faster, I hook up my trailer/race car and go to the track, not public roads.
Besides, several hundred dollars will turn one of these cars into a SUBSTANTIALLY better handling car. This is America and it is called hotroding. Simply order some heavy duty swaybars, shocks, wider wheels, and some sticky AA traction rated tires on the upper end of the scale and you will fly threw the turns. The body lean stock is minimal stock. Just don’t ever expect it to have the same superb ride.
One day 12 Z06’s and Vipers paraded in to race and parked away from the rest of us. I got permission from the track officials to take my tow car out, Grand Marquis sister to the TC, and run it. Everyone fell over laughing till I out ran 1/2 the $60k+ sports cars. The best of them could only out pull me by 2 seconds a lap. They had race rubber too. Since I replaced the open differential with a limited slip. That alone knocks about 1 second off my time.
I bought mine for the smooth great ride, a bench seat for my date to slide up to me on, huge trunk that I wish I could put a several lawyers in, room for 3 couples, and don’t forget it was the first car in the world to get a 5 star crash rating in every single category! You want to race, buy a race car, you want to drive by a TC.
Hey, I am with you Mr. 39 year old. Lol! 49 young here. I have had 2 dates make remarks about my “old mans” car till they went for a ride. Guess who’s car they always want to take? Lol!
I am now 55 years young lady. I've been driving an 89 Lincoln Town Car for years now. I love it. Handles easily, steers beautifully. Of course I get the comments: great "limo" for airport runs. I took some new Russian immigrants garage saling, filled the trunk with everything their deprived hearts could handle, the man said "classy" with great satisfaction. Great American car.
When I was younger I turned heads with a 65 Mustang, now I turn older heads with my Lincoln. I tell my husband I'm quite sure it's never me, but my cars.

I have an 89 linc tc, I replace the front anti sway bar -after modification- with an inch and quarter unit, installed a one inch in the rear from a chevy sub, replaced the front springs with stiffer units and have bilstein shocks at all four corners and made a ground effects kit with front air dam and this thing corners like it is on rails. You have got to see it. I will send anyone who request it photos.
Oh, I forgot to include my e-mail address for the lincoln photos ligginsanthony@yahoo.com thanks fellow lincoln owners.
