For 2008, the Mini Cooper S remains largely unchanged from the 2007 model. A careful word of caution, though: The Cooper S hardtop is noticeably different from the convertible Cooper S, in more ways than just a fixed roof.

The hardtop was redesigned for 2007 and got a new turbocharged engine. It’s also slightly larger than the previous model. However, the 2008 Cooper S convertible was not redesigned in 2007; it’s still the first-generation Cooper S introduced in 2002, including that model’s supercharged engine.

Because of the recent 2007 redesign, not much else has changed for the 2008 Cooper S hardtop.

2008-model-year hardtops will be available for sale come December. Convertibles are on sale now.
