Cars.com’s Smart Target Price gives you a reference point of where to start price negotiations when buying a new car. Rebates and incentives — like the offers we list here — aren’t included in the Smart Target Price, as explained by the feature’s FAQ:

“Manufacturer-to-consumer rebates/incentives are not the same as manufacturer-to-dealer incentives and do not affect the actual transaction price. Car shoppers can generally choose to either apply these funds against the sales price as a down payment (lowering the amount to be financed), or accept a check from the dealer for the rebate amount.” 

The following are also not factored into the Smart Target Price:
