On the strictly value side of the equation, you can use Cars.com’s five-year cost of ownership tool to determine overall value. I plugged in the entry-level trims for each of the cars you listed, and it was easy to see the clear winner was the Mini Cooper S, mainly because of its lower starting price. However, the difference in cost over five years between the Cooper S and the C30 was less than $3,000.

That means if you really prefer the C30 over the Cooper S, you probably won’t mind that $600 a year very much. The Audi A3 is much costlier, almost $9,000 more than the Cooper S over five years. Again, mostly due to a higher starting price. I like all three cars and would probably favor the C30 because it’s so stylish.
