Will the new Jeep Wrangler get a more powerful engine?

Will the new Jeep Wrangler get a more powerful engine, maybe a diesel?

Juanita W.

For quite some time, stateside Wrangler enthusiasts have longed for a diesel engine. While a diesel is available overseas, we won’t see one available for consumers in North America for 2008. Jeep could always surprise us, though, so check in at Cars.com’s KickingTires blog for current Wrangler news.

In 2007, the Wrangler was given an overhaul as well as a more powerful 202-hp V-6 that replaced the previous year’s 190-hp inline-six-cylinder. For 2008, the Wrangler carries on with the same 4.0-liter V-6.
