Burton P., Billings, Mont.

We first saw the hot-rodded Caliber SRT4 at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show; after all this time, a Dodge representative says the SRT4 will be available in the fourth quarter of 2007, but nothing more specific has been announced yet.

You can check with your local Dodge dealership to see if they have a preorder or waiting list to reserve one. The SRT4 will be front-wheel drive with a 285-hp, turbocharged four-cylinder, and as long as it can muster up some handling prowess, which the non-SRT4 Caliber certainly doesn’t have, its performance should come close to the Volkswagen GTI and Mazdaspeed3.
