Chevrolet announced that the Camaro coupe — originally shown as a concept at the 2006 Detroit auto show — will go on sale in the first quarter of 2009, with production starting in late 2008. If the interest shown by auto-show goers is any indication of how many people will purchase a new Camaro, we won’t be surprised if you have to wait to get yourself a 2009 retro-rodded Camaro when it does hit dealerships. A convertible version of the new Camaro — shown in bright orange with black racing stripes at the 2007 Detroit auto show— should be available by late 2009.

Ah, Finally. Somebody gets it right. Too many have been saying "it'll be on showrooms mid-'08"...don't believe anything except this.

As it's the only dates GM themselves have announced.

Thank you, Joe Bruzek for paying attention.

I saw for the first time on Mira Mar BLVD San Diego Oct 13 2008 the new camaro running up and down the streets.
