If you have a specific luxury sedan and price range in mind, you can use the Cars.com Vehicle Recommender to search for cars with keyless entry. The checkbox is under the “Comfort and Convenience Features” section, and all you have to do is choose “Keyless Entry System” to search for cars with keyless entry. As for luxury sedans, you’ll be hard pressed to find one without keyless entry, as all the luxury sedans we can think of — and there’s a lot — have an available keyless entry system in one way or another.

There are a couple keyless entry systems out there. The classic type of keyless entry is available on just about any car and has a push-button key fob for lock, unlock, panic, etc. Even the least-expensive compact econo-cars — like the $10,560 Chevrolet Aveo — can have this kind of keyless entry.

The second type of keyless entry will allow you to unlock and open the doors without actually hitting a button on the fob; just keep the key fob in your pocket and when you grab the car door handle, the door will unlock. This type may also team with a keyless ignition, where once the key fob is inside the car (in a pocket, purse, etc.) you can hit an engine start button or turn the ignition tumbler to start the car, all without the key fob leaving your pocket or purse. Mercedes-Benz pioneered the technology and calls its system SmartKey, but this type of technology is available from multiple automakers, including Nissan, which calls their system Intelligent Key. The keyless entry/ignition type of system was introduced around 10 years ago, but as with most new newer technologies, it’s trickled down to less-expensive cars, including the compact Nissan Versa, which starts at $12,550.

Then there's Ford's keypad by the driver's door handle. A long time favorite of people who lock their keys in their cars.
