When the compact CR-V sport utility vehicle was redesigned for 2007, Honda ditched the spare tire on the rear and relocated it under the rear floor. The CR-V now has a rear hatch that easily lifts vertically, replacing the previous model’s swing-out cargo door. If the rear-mounted spare wheel is your fancy, though, you can still find one on the new Toyota RAV4.
