Is the rough idle in a CTS-V normal?

I have a 2006 CTS-V that I bought used with about 6,500 miles on it. The engine will not idle smoothly. Is this common to all of these cars with the 6.0 LS2 engines? I had driven an '05 with the 5.7 L and it didn't idle smooth either.

The rough idle is simply a characteristic of the high-performance CTS-V, and yes, that is exactly the way the car performed for reviewer David Thomas when he drove it. There could be something wrong if your whole car is shaking violently back and forth, and if that’s the case take it to the dealership, as you’ve still got plenty of warranty left. But for the most part, a rough idle is characteristic of the recent 400-hp 6.0-liter and previous — also 400-hp — 5.7-liter high-performance engines. These engines — in varying horsepower ratings — were also used in the most recent incarnation of the GTO and the latest-generation Corvettes, which exhibited similar seemingly rough idle traits.
