How do I find the right car for me?

I'm looking for a used car to replace my beloved (but gas-guzzling) Jeep Wrangler. My problem is identifying what makes/models I should look at — I want something more fuel-efficient than my Jeep, small (two-door or small four-door), with AWD or FWD and a manual transmission. I'd love a convertible, but could live without it. How can I filter through all the vehicles available and find just the ones that meet those criteria?

Our vehicle recommender is just the tool for you. You can filter through hundreds of cars from 1997 to 2008 by choosing criteria like price, gas mileage, convertible, drive type and transmission, as well as many other options. After the criteria are entered, the recommender will spit out matching cars from our database. See below for a link to the Cars.com Vehicle Recommender.
