Help!! My wife and I just had a child (now 10 months old) and are having car problems — we have three cars and only two drivers. We thought we got away with no kids for 13 years, but alas, now we have a kiddo. I need to know what car will replace the versatility of my new-ish Dodge pickup, the fun of my 10th AE Miata and the usefulness of my old ’99 Saturn SL2?

Do I really need the power of a six-cylinder in a midsize sedan like a Camry, Accord or Altima? Will a four-cylinder do the job, or will it only do it to some point? Will the four-cylinder hold the car for 10 years plus?

I need to buy a new car. I'm a real estate agent, so I need something relatively "nice." I had my eye on the BMW 3 Series for a while because of the great warranty, but I’m interested in getting a hybrid. I like the Toyota Camry Hybrid, but worry about the acceleration since it only comes with the four-cylinder engine. If you have anything else to suggest, I'd love to hear it! Only requirements are that it needs to be a four-door and decently nice for clients, and I'd like a lease payment of under $500/mo.

I have a '98 Grand Cherokee with the inline-six-cylinder engine and it's still going strong at 210,000 miles. It is a very capable vehicle in snow (I live in the mountains of northern New Hampshire) and in the offroad places I usually take it. But its fuel economy is pretty bad and I am thinking of replacing it.
I am thinking of the Patriot because I want much better fuel economy, but I need a vehicle that's capable in the snow and moderate offroad summer conditions.
I am trying to determine if the Patriot with Freedom Drive I package and a manual transmission will do the trick.
